To perpetuate the memory of Late Nrusingha Guru, a Smruti Samiti (Memorial committee) named ‘Nrusingha Guru Smruti Samiti’ was formed in 1984, immediately after the demise of Nrusingha Guru with the prominent public men of the state as its members under the Presidentship of Late Prof. Prafulla Kumar Pati, Former Vice Chancellor of Sambalpur University. After the demise of Prof. Pati in January, 2006, Former Vice Chancellor of Berhampur University Prof. Aditya Prasad Padhi and veteran Journalist Hemanta Kumar Mahapatra have been working as its President and Secretary respectively.

Activities of Nrusingha Guru Smruti Samiti
The Samiti observes the Birth and Death Anniversary of Shri Nruingha Guru every year, besides organizing meetings, seminars and symposiums on different topics throughout the year. It also organises different competitions among the schools and college students on various topics related to the life of Nrusingha Guru. Moreover, the samiti organises Health Camps, Tree Plantation programmes and Felicitation Ceremonies throughout the year.

Year Long Birth Centenary Celebration
The Samiti celebrated the Birth Centenary of Nrusingha Guru in 2002-2003 by organising different functions throughout the state. The then Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly Shri Sarat Kumar Kar inaugurated the year long centenary celebration, while Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik graced its Valedictory function. Shri M.M Rajendran, the then Governor of Odisha attended as Chief Guest in the Birth centenary function, organised at Deogarh. Besides this, many Ministers, Legislators, academicians and prominent persons attended the centenary celebration at different places of Odisha.

Books published by Nrusingha Guru Smruti Samiti
Nrusingha Guru Smruti Samiti published a book in Odia titled “Sambalpurare Swadhinata Sangram O Nrusingha Gurunka Bhumika”, written by eminent historian Late Dr.Jagnya Kumar Sahoo.

A book titled “Paschim Odisha ke Mahatma Gandhi – Nrusingha Guru” written by Prof. Balaram Dash in Hindi has been also published.

Besides these, the Birth Centenary Celebration Committee published a book on Sanskrit titled “Nrusingha Smruti Shatakam” written by Dr.Niranjan Pati.

Padmashree Bidyabachaspati Dr.Srinivas Udgata has also written a book on the life and activities of Shri Guru in Hindi titled “Odisha ke Gandhi – Nrusingha Guru”, which has been published by the Samiti.

The Samiti has also published a book in English titled “The Guru and The Mahatma” authored by Prof. Giridhari Prasad Guru, Retired DPI of Schools.
